Salt Spring B.C. is safe . Crime by big city standards it is almost nonexistent. We do have a full detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and they are here to...hum well last year a rototiller went missing... it was in the local paper the Driftwood.
Are you having a hard time finding a family Doctor? The reason is they all live here on the Salt Spring and we even have our own Hospital ( Lady Minto Hospital ) where you can get first class service. There are also dentists, physiotherapists and all other health practitioners you may need.
Although it's part of Canada it does have its own currency, Salt Spring Dollars , that trade at par with the Canadian Dollar. Salt Spring also has two chartered banks, a credit union, two large grocery stores, and stores for everything else you might want. You do not need to leave the island.
