"Salt Spring Island" author Bea Hamilton - 1969 history book on the island.
- She was a very good writer and adds a flavour that is just not found in today's books.
"Ganbaru" The Murakami Family of Salt Spring Island by Rose Murakami - This is the history of the remarkable Japanese Canadian family.
"All about Salt Spring Island" A Visitor's Guide by Anne Smart 1991 edition - It's out of print but has some interesting insights.
"Islands In Trust" Author / Editor Arthur Fielding Sweet - To preserve and protect the whole story of the Islands Trust - is dry but very informative.
"Stuck on an Island" by Jacqueline Watson - A great story of the adventures of an American couple on Saltspring.

"Salt Spring Island a Place to Be" by Ellie Thorburn & Pearl Gray - A virtual who's who of Salt Spring - a fun book to browse through.
"Chasing the Dream Tryste Around the World" by Val Haigh - A great sailing / Salt Spring book of a remarkable family journey.
