Salt Spring is located in the best sailing grounds in Canada.  The Salish Sea (Gulf Islands) is great for year round sailing and or/boating.  If you are a boater there are some great Salt Spring homes to look at and call home.  Some of the most famous sailors of the modern cruising era have lived on the island.  The Smeeton's are about the most famous sailors to call Salt Spring Island BC home. 

I have been sailing in the local area for 5 years and have loved every trip or race.  The wide variety of scenery and places to see is just breathtaking.  Salt Spring sailing or Salt Spring boating is the perfect activity.  Where else can you cruise from anchorage to anchorage and find four star restaurants, golf courses, enjoy watching whales along the route and do it all in protected waters? There is boating for all tastes from sailboat racing, cruising and power boating to kayaking and canoeing.
