These are some Salt Spring Island books, Gulf Islands books or Vancouver Island books that you may find interesting.   • Its a new book still in print and is gives a very good account of the history of Salt Spring.

"Hiking the Gulf Islands : An Outdoor Guide to BC's Enchanted Isles" by Charles Kahn order now

  • Charles has put together this wonderful salt spring hiking book.
  • I met him at the neighbor's New Year's party and he said he would sign my copies. 

"Paving Paradise" By Michael Kluckner order now

  • Interesting book on Vancouver island development.
  • I have tried to get permission to re print some information in this book. 
  • This book proves how valuable Salt Spring will become if it stays pristine.
  • Anyone considering moving to the west coast should read this book.

"Salt Spring Island" author Bea Hamilton

  • 1969 book on the Salt Spring island history 
  • She was a very good writer and adds a flavor that is just not found in today's books.

"Ganbaru" The Murakami Family of Salt Spring Island by Rose Murakami

  • This is the history of the remarkable Japanese Canadian family. 

"All about Salt Spring Island"  A Visitor's Guide by Anne Smart 1991 edition

  • Its out of print but has some interesting insights.
