I'm feeling better today back into the blog. blog on. I just have this desire to do some welding....

Sometimes when I'm feeling down I like to get out the welder (I weld with a stick, not a little MiG, but the big stick, high amperage, will weld or cut any steel) and make something. I have been known to go at it all night. Welding is really a night time artistic pursuit. I cant weld as well during the day. Unfortunately my wife's old car is in the middle of my shop...hum... the possibilities I could turn it into something great. Like the time I turned her garden seeder into a huge fire breathing dragon. It was very cool unfortionatly someone came by my shop and bought it right away even before I taken a pictures of it.

The tough thing is to find unique stock. If I could find something on the beach. Like an old anchor or boat parts then I could really turn them into some interesting art.

A few people have said that I should open up my shop and put it on the Salt Spring Studio tour but it is just something I like to do for fun and I'm not that good.  

I think if I could work on it I would do modern reproductions of west coast first nations art in reclaimed rusted steel. It's just such great art its so west coast.
