Salt Spring Island whale of a time

Salt Spring Island whale of a time. Yesterday I went out side to do a little yard clean up and kept hearing this swish noise and it was two whales. Orcas (killer whales) swimming beside Salt Spring Island. It looked like a mother whale and her calf. They where having a grand swim in the clean clear water of Trincomali Channel. Unfortunately by the time I grabbed the camera they where to far from shore to get a decent picture. It would be nice to have a 10x zoom lens for such occasions.

It's nice to see the whales back in the local waters, they go south in the winter, whales are smart creatures.

One day I would like to go kayaking with them it would make a great movie. It might be a little dangerous but so neat.
