Salt Spring Island real estate tip after last night big fire protect your home from a wild fire. Last night the main club house and pool building at the Salt Spring Island resort burned down and it could have turned into a major forest fire if our great Volunteer fire department had not contained it.

If a forest fire hits the island you will be in trouble if you don't do take the advice that is in the Fire Smart Manual and clear a area around your home. I would recommend 25 meter (75 foot) clear zone of all major trees.
