Salt Spring Island complement received by the chamber of commerce
This was received by the chamber...
Hi There…..
I just returned from spending a week on Salt Spring Island. Wow.
Please don’t change who you are. It was so good to see “mom and
pop”
shops, individually owned stores. It was so refreshing and friendly
not
see the same storefronts, the same adds, the same buildings. The
difference was so apparent on Salt Spring…..to not see a Tim
Horton’s
(Auntie Pesto’s coffee is better) or a McDonald’s ( the Ganges
bakery on
the edge of town toward Fulford is more satisfying, not to mention
nutritious) and no WAL-MART! The Saturday Market gave me a choice to
buy something made with personal care and attention, not made in some
third world sweat shop. Thank goodness there are still those places in
the world that supports entrepreneurs and truly values its workers and
consumers. Thanks for keeping life human and humane.
