It was a great day, went for a long walk with Rex and then went to see the buyers of the condo in Roscomon They received possession at 8am and where they ever happy. I brought them a nice Salt Spring card and a bottle of Salt Spring blackberry port. To see the joy on their faces, it was wonderful, they have wanted to move into Roscomon for three years. Their house was listed last spring and did not sell (different agent). This time it sold in 34 days. It was so nice to have some one buy their house and have them move into the condo. They are a very fascinating couple of high energy 70/80 year old (you would think they where not a day over 50). They just go from sun up til sun down, they packed moved half their stuff into storage, they just go go go. She told me he lost his hearing not from being old but from flying during the war. It really made being a real estate agent worth while, just to see how happy they are...good luck in the new place and I will be over for tea and some more fascinating stories.
If I never sold another house again I would say I was successful because this is what it is all about. I'm not that emotional but I must say I had little tears of joy rolling after seeing them and hearing how they just loved the place. Maybe that is why I like one percent the money and the commission do not really interest me. It is nice to make some money to pay the bills but it just doesn't do it for me. The payment I received with by bringing them joy is all the payment I ever need. It just makes my soul happy and warm.
